GPOY. Can I please climb into bed at least once before this sem ends (if it’s ever going to end because it doesn’t feel like it will) and not worry about anything at all. I just want to sleep, eat and watch stuff and sleep and eat and sleep again. :| :(

I quoted this at the beginning of my 2-3 minute impromptu speech for Comm3 last Tuesday. I wanted to blog about it on Tuesday night, but I eventually decided not to. But we watched the video of our speeches in class this afternoon, so I decided then that I could blog about it now. Hahaha.
My topic was: Love is a choice. I’m not going to blog my whole speech, because it sucked. My main point was this:
When a relationship that was once good turns bad, you can’t blame anyone but yourself. Nobody forces you to fall in love, but it’s always you who decides to make something more out of that feeling and make it more than JUST a feeling. You learn from this relationship, and when you get into a new relationship, then you know who, when, where, how (and why?) to love. This, I think, is where love becomes a choice. After that first bad relationship, you become stronger, and you learn things. You are able to choose and decide for yourself what you want in, for, and from a relationship.
Did that make any sense? Haha. But yes, that was the gist of my speech. I was horrified when I watched the video. Kept looking down at my notes, and messy hair is messy. And poofy. Ugggh, why didn’t I tie my hair that dayyyyy! :|
P.S. I didn’t even know that’s how my voice sounds when I speak! And while I was delivering my speech, I swear I thought I was speaking too slow, so I might have sped up a little to get to the point. Apparently I was talking a little too fast. I didn’t even know I could talk that fast. asdfghjkl why do I suck in public speaking! :(
KRISTEN: So the day of my birthday we’re sitting in the living room and we hear a knock at the door, and he [Dax] says, “Your present’s here, why don’t you go grab the dogs and go in the back room.” And I had no context for knowing what it was. But I grab the dogs, walk into the back room of the house, and I was immediately overcome and I thought there’s a sloth here. There’s a sloth here, it’s close, it’s gonna happen! And I didn’t know how to process that because my entire life had been waiting for this moment where I would get to interact - I’m serious! - with a sloth. And I, first thing you should know about me: if I’m not between a 3 and a 7 on the emotional scale, I’m crying. If it’s too sad, if I’m too excited. Always. […] So I am sitting on my bed knowing that a sloth is here. I start to have a full-fledged panic attack. I don’t know how to compete with all this emotion so I just kind of crawl up on the bed and I’m crying so hard and Dax knocks on the door and he has a video camera like, “SURPRISE! I want you to come out into the — are you alright?!” And sees me basically fetal on the bed.
ELLEN: I think you brought a little footage of that, I cannot wait to see it.
KRISTEN: I did. It’s worth watching ‘cause it’s embarrassing, so we can take a look.
